Exits
It's bad all over,
everyone is prone
to a modicum
of bullshit,
and one can finally see
why in the world
another would exchange
a life for living.
But truth can still be found
in the works of Beckett,
Woolf and Borges;
in the poetry of
Williams and Dickinson,
in the music of
Floyd and Tull
and the movies
of Hewitt and Duvall.
In short,
there are portals
of escape available
when the walls
are closing in
and the ceiling
is descending
rapidly, even if
only temporary.
When what's on
the other side (and you)
are completely exhausted,
open another door.
