Dockweiler-Thomas Skahill

There's a glimpse
of a glimmer.

Warmth of a fire
in the distance

which flickers
not for me.

I resign,
I concede.

Yes, C'est La Vie

but that's not comforting,
not for me.

People dance in droves,
coaxing my skin

but I
feel more
akin
to moths

more
the mutable
white flecks
mistaken first

for falling ash
until you see
the speck elevate

and flutter in flight.
