swallowed her whole
Like a python swallows it's prey
She slid down my throat
Easy
Into my belly
Where she belongs
She's safe in there
Safe from school shootings
And marathon bombings
And factory explosions
She's safe in there
For now
And maybe by the time I birth her again
The world will be safe, too
